Artist Of The Day: M. M. Anderson

Today's artist of the day is M. M. Anderson

Where can we find your art?

Tell us something about yourself
I majored in art when I was in college back in the day but until recently I hadn't tried to earn money at it. My first attempts to sell images online were with stock image sites. I haven't had much luck there but I have learned a lot. Hopefully my Zazzle store will be more successful once the buyers discover it.

What are your favorites quotes?
"The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it." John 1:5
"Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it." -George Santayana

Fondest memories?
One of my best memories is spending time with family growing up. We used to play games in the yard on summer evenings and that is a fond memory.
Another happy memory comes from traveling with family to Walt Disney World.

How would you like to be remember?
When I die I'd like to be remembered as someone who did her best. I may never be what one would call a success but I have tried to do my best at everything I do.

And here are some examples of our artist's of the day work. Enjoy.

  2. Hello, my name is Derek ... I have an (Oil on Canvas) 18"X24" painting, signed on lower left corner
" M. M. Van Anderson " ! On the back it has the same signature, and is dated (1-7-61), with a price of $90.00 (at that time)!!! The painting appears to me to "represent" a "Ferocious Fire" (no trees or anything), just the COLORS and the Sense of "Frantic" Surroundings in the way that they were applied (as if the painter was personally experiencing something Very Traumatic) !!! Also I could see the possibility of it to "represent" an "Exploding" Volcano, but it definately appears "to me" to look like a DEVISTATING Emergency Situation, reguardless !!! Do you happen to know of any artist's with that name, from that time period (possibly family, possibly not) ???
I would Really Appreciate ANY information that you could possibly pass on to me ! I am just an ordinary (Blue Collar) type of guy, not at All into Culturable Art's or such !!! But, this painting just "GOT" my attention, and I "HONESTLY", have NO Idea, Where or How I Picked up, and Described, this sense of Understanding AND Explanation !!! Would you please respond to me ASAP (if possible), and let me know if you might have ANY information, that you could enlighten me with (I would Love to see more of this artist's work)???
    THANK YOU, VERY MUCH ;
    " DEREK "
P.S... Just in case it would happen to be a family member (given the name), and you would have an interest in talking with me, you would be More than Welcome to telephone me @ (863) 875-6440 (in Auburndale, Florida) !!!

  3. Derek,
I'm afraid that I don't know that artist and am not related to them. I did a quick Google search but nothing came up so it is hard to say if the artist has any more work out there. I hope you are able to find out, good luck.
